You, Me & Dupree -- 2006 -- PG-13

So if you just got married and your best friend slacker lost everything and needed a place to stay, would you take him in right after the honeymoon? If you said yes, then You, Me & Dupree is the film for you. It's a comedic take on friendship and marriage and how to save them both.

Dupree is a perpetual slacker who, as a result of being the best man at his best friend's wedding, lost his job and was evicted from his apartment. Feeling responsible for him, his best friend, Carl, convinces his new wife, Molly, to take Dupree for "just a few days." Well, this situation goes from bad to worse when Dupree takes full advantage of their generosity, and when Carl tires of him, Molly takes him in. Add to Carl's stress his new father-in-law being a general butt and apparently disliking his daughter's union. All the stress makes a guy explode.

Despite all the zany, off beat situations, and even unlikely things to occur, the movie was a pleasant easy watch; just the kind of thing to kick back and view for a laugh or two, but nothing overly thought provoking. You've got a good cast here who portrays their characters well, and gives them a decent life (even though some of the situations are really far out).

Can't complain much about it except that it's rather normal and simplistic. A lot of good natured humor here and there, but nothing overly fantastic. One feature to die for on the DVD is the spoof trailer. Don't want to spoil that one because of its sheer pricelessness.
