This sci-fi outing concerning the ancient plot of robots gone mad has a refreshing character element to it making it practically a high concept movie. Sure, we have lots of action sequences and impressive CG effects, but we also have the story of a man who must overcome his personal prejudices to solve a mystery. The casting of Will Smith as the prejudiced detective strikes an ironic note given his own race and its prejudiced past.
Overall, the movie was well-constructed and stayed right on track to the end with even a few zingers of twisted plot thrown in for good measure.
