This was a teen high school drama that almost reminds me of a kid version of Goodfellas or something of that nature. It follows a kid who discovers a girl dead in the opening scene. We flashback 2 days to learn he got a phone call from her that contained a lot of words that were completely ambiguous to him like brick, pin, tug, frisco and a few others that he tries to get to the bottom of.
He finds himself in the underbelly of the high school drug world and gets in the employ of the kingpin of the whole operation in order to unravel the mystery of his ex-girlfriend's demise. This was an intricately woven, well-thought-out tale of deception and intrigue where our hero deceives everyone and trusts no one but his buddy, who is the brains behind his movements.
He acquires a variety of contacts, not all of which are trustworthy, until when it appears the whole yarn is unravelled, there is yet one more piece of information he skillfully uncovers to a satisfying conclusion to this this clever little thriller. I admire the writing.
